The Compton homie might’ve dropped “two-nickels” on Golden State earlier in the year. But, the opposing rookie guard on that Golden State squad – Steph Curry – has been balling out his mind. Philly representer Gilbere Forte’ teams up with streetwear label Black Scale to drop this Gilbere Forte’ is BLVCK mixtape as the genesis of the Gilbere Forte’ campaign begins. Here are three new jawns, from the artist/producer who will be opening up for Mos Def, Talib Kweli and Jay Electronica at a show in Philly this upcoming weekend (look out for that). If you happen to be roaming around Magic/S.L.A.T.E. in Vegas from February 16th to 18th, you can get you a physical copy of the mixtape as they’ll be handed out at the Black Scale booth. The Color Black…a Don Cannon produced jawn? My hip-hop senses tell me so. No confirmation though. *shrugs* By the way…Forte’ just wrapped up a Chris Robinson-directed video shoot in L.A. last week. Check for that as homie is looking to make a pretty big splash…early!
