The homie Ricky from Polymathix hit me up the other day about riding to Tampa to interview Wale. Considering Rob and I have been trying to get an interview for the past YEAR, while his publicist claiming he wasn’t “doing media” for a good part of ‘08 (riiiiiiiiight), this was our perfect opportunity to get the feature. So we headed out to Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa….
A little pre-interview beverage at the bar…
Tampa Bay Times got in first…waiting…waiting…
Hey Wale, here’s a bunch of free gear courtesy of Polymathix…
Okay…interview over…let’s hit up the club…waiting…waiting…Wale on twitter I’m sure..
View from our little spot…
Tequila straight up please…thanks…
Thanks again to Walter and Wale for letting us tag along…feature coming very, very soon…
So every morning before I go to work I pass by the old Middle School I used to attend. Those mornings around 7-8am, I can’t help but notice how beautiful the sunrise looks against these baseball fields in front of the school. (LIGHTBULB: Photoshoot). Since February, I’ve had this Baseball themed shoot in my head. With baseball season starting up in the Summer, the Griffey’s re-releasing, and this new clothing line, Polymathix, remixing the Florida Marlins logo, it seemed like the stars were all aligning. So I scheduled a shoot for today at 8am. I don’t know why, but I couldn’t sleep. I mean, it was a combination of ideas for the shoot flowing through my head, and other things which I rather not say, but in the end, I only get 2 hrs of sleep. Not only that, it was raining when I got out the house, there goes that beautiful vision I had.
Regardless, we still made it work. Here’s a preview…
By now, I’m sure everyone has heard that VIBE will cease to exist after the Christina Millian/Dream Issue. This happenning only a couple months after KING announced it will be printing it’s final issue with Budden’s girl, Tahiry on the cover. I mean, it was inevitable, we at PPM knew this more than a year ago, the death of print, which is why you have yet to see a tangible copy in your hands. The other night, I had a dream that XXL was next on the chopping block, giving us an excuse to go to print, just to fill that void, lol. I can’t lie though, although print may be dying, there’s something special about having that tangible piece of work in your hands. There’s a significant difference in going to the MET versus checking out 72 dpi photos of paintings online. It’s not the same. Web layout versus Magazine layouts? Don’t get me wrong, many sites nowadays are far complex when it comes to coding and design, but I’ll take the artistry and creativity of laying out each individual article within a publication with the consideration of typography and design versus plugging info and stock photos on an already made template. But, that’s just me.
That’s Dwight and Jameer looking on as the Lakeshow celebrates on our homecourt. Congratulations LA. Congrats. Congrats to P and Vincent.
Bye-bye to Turk. Who’s going to pay over 10 mil to a 30yo SF? It’s the NBA, so I’m sure there’s a sucker out there. Hell, we gave up Ariza to the 2009 World Champs for Cook and Evans, yea, there’s a sucker out there.
Soak it in Dwight and Jameer, feel the pain of losing when you’re so close. We all love Jameer in Orlando, but you just weren’t ready homie, not your fault, SVG just made some bad choices.
Anyway, Congrats LA. Congrats.
And maybe, we’ll do it again next year. And maybe, next time we’ll have the private jet to enjoy the Finals with the rest of the P+ team, with a win for the good guys of course (that’s the Magic if you didn’t know).
Ok, so if you’ve been following us, especially on twitter, you’re aware of a current PPLUS Civil War that has transpired since the Orlando Magic and the Lakers made it to the NBA Finals. Preston and Vincent are avid Laker Fans, and Rob, I, and the rest of the PPLUS Florida family rep our hometown/state. Well, I got a nice little package today from my boy P.
Ahh, very creative P, very creative (claps). I can’t hate though, because inside were some dope Primitive fitteds.
However, digging through all the styrofoam peanuts, P showed his true colors. Ashamed to show his love for his real favorite team (being he lives in LA), he also included a photo of him reppin’ the #1 Orlando Magic!!! He apparently is a Miami Heat fan as well (see below):
I knew it P! I knew it! Yea, Orlando is down 0-2, but it feels good knowing deep inside you are a true Magic Fan! Btw, Lena & Paris need to hop off the Magic bandwagon, the first two games show the effectiveness of your curse!
Here’s some vid of our ATL trip for Sneaker Pimps. Stay tuned for the official Sneaker Pimps ATL Event Coverage, as soon as Rob gets me that footage. =)
Internet is down at the cribbo, for the second day in a row. AT&T is f+ckin with my money, no bueno. But, got a chance to go to Game 5 of the Magic-Sixers game. Series tied 2-2, let’s get it! Here’s some shots with the wack 18-55mm and the 300 milli.
Halftime…

D12 actually hittin’ free throws!
The only dunk I got a shot of, never ever will I underestimate Sports photography…
Magic won, but D12 suspended for Game 6 cause the Sixers coach is a crybaby. Magic in 6 though.
So I used to f+ck with Fruity Loops in ‘01, that lasted for a couple of months. lol. JD choppin’ up the Ocean’s 11 Soundtrack?!?! One of my favorite movie franchises of all time. Can’t wait for this mixtape to drop, I can hear Hov’s verse in almost all of those samples! Altho that won’t happen.
I hit up the local Filipino grocery store the other day and boy did it take me back to my childhood. LOL@ the above cake mix, a “classic” example of things inappropriately not translating into other languages.
Yan Yan > Pocky. Yea, I said it. Never tried those Hello Kitty joints on the right tho.
I used to love these, that is, until I found out where gelatin came from.
