Ms. Amy, what’s behind the name “C’est La Vie”?

Being that C’est La Vie means “it is the life” or “this is the life” in French, the definition grew on us and represented how we felt about everything we’re involved with. Nothing is better than doing what you love most and what makes you happy.

And what will we be able to find on thisislavie.com?

The concept of our blog is to showcase our readers with original content and to present them with up to date information about fashion, art, music, entertainment and anything that intrigues us. We appreciate the work and dedication that a lot of individuals produce making that our focal point and purpose for C’est La Vie.

A lot of people have their own blogs (raises hand reluctantly), it is tough to keep up, what motivates you to keep C’est La Vie fresh?

Our motivation isn’t to keep up with the Jones’ of blogging, but to continue to use our site as a canvas to paint our vision and the vision of the many talented artists we meet. We’ve noticed a lot of other great sites stepping their game up and establishing their foundation. That’s inspiration and motivation for us to also challenge our own creativity and let the site do most of the talking. Consistency is key in the blogging world.

When it comes to kicks, what are “must have’s” in a woman’s closet?

Going back to my first love I would say Nike Air Max’s are a must in a woman’s closet and clean J’s do the trick too, preferably 4′s or Spizikes. As of late, I’ve noticed more women brands linking up with well known shoe manufacturers to produce some off the wall sneakers, so considering the limited quantities made, those are always a plus for us.

Kicks aside, what are some of your favorite brands when it comes to fashion?

Like most women, I have too many to name. Narrowing my list down would water down my love for all the gifted designers! (Laughs) But if you must ask, my selection in brands vary tremendously. I’m open to a lot of designers from high end couture and street wear to old ass dirt vintage pieces. Notable brands like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, YSL and Goyard offers a lot of quality goods. But, I also love bargain shopping and picking up items from local boutiques as well. I’m everywhere with my designer favorites and it definitely shows in my wardrobe.

Three years from now, where would you like to see C’est La Vie?

We’re going with the flow of things but definitely look forward to becoming a branded company with a solid following. Maybe some limited edition pieces under our belt and possibly some collaborations. It’s an open road for us and we’re joy riding ’til the wheels fall off! Catch us in the fast lane, that’s for sure.

Anything else you’d like to leave our readers with?

Shout outs to those of you who supported our movement from day one. We’re forever grateful and blessed to meet/know respected individuals in the industry today as well as having the chance to work with some of them. All of our readers from around the globe, THANK YOU for spreading the word and keeping our vision alive. Save the best for last, special shout outs to Premium Plus Magazine and Preston, for this awesome opportunity. See you guys at the top! C’est La Vie!
