Microsoft officially deprecated Net Explorer in June a year ago, ending it on the Microsoft Side, with support technically being withdrawn for IE 11. But today’s Microsoft Side update ensures that you can no longer release Net Explorer 11 on all types of Windows clients. 10. There are some conditions, including Microsoft’s Long-Term Service Channel for Windows 10 and types like Windows 10 China Government Version, but for everyone else, IE 11 is going away today.
However, the core technology that powers Net Explorer, MSHTML and the Trident engine will continue to be supported. Microsoft has switched to its Chromium-powered Side visitor, which is standard in Windows 11, however the MSHTML engine remains part of Windows 11. It exists to power IE settings in Microsoft Side, and Microsoft says it will support IE settings in Side through at least 2029.
Microsoft has been wanting to phase out Net Explorer for almost 8 years. The software maker moved away from personalizing Net Explorer with the release of Windows 10 in 2015 and created an IE setting for Side in 2019. Microsoft has already tried to prevent people from using Net Explorer in recent years, calling it a “compatibility solution”. for businesses, rather than a visitor that should be applied daily.
